New Life Saving Battlefield Technology Chosen By MOD To Stop Bleeding When It Matters Most.

A new ground-breaking product that stops bleeding and saves lives has been chosen by UK MOD to be included in the first aid kit of UK soldiers.

After a substantial review the UK MOD have chosen Celox™ Gauze as the top performing product in its class and the best product to help save the lives of UK soldiers in Afghanistan. Celox™ Gauze is now being deployed in theatre.
Celox™ Gauze was developed and is made by MedTrade, a fast growing UK medical technology company based in the North West.

Celox™ rapidly controls moderate to severe bleeding from arterial, deep arterial or high flow sites within minutes of application by attracting red blood cells to its surface and forming a strong gel plug which seals the wound.
Celox™ has been proven to rapidly and reliably stop major bleeding in serious wounds, whether occurring on the battlefield, through knife lacerations, gunshots or from work related incidents.

Celox™ works independently of temperature and the bodies own blood clotting mechanisms. It is able to clot blood in the presence of anti-coagulants such as Heparin and Coumadin™ and to clot hypothermic (cold) blood. These special properties make it suitable for treating many different types of problem bleeding in many different situations.

Craig Hardy, CEO of MedTrade, said:
“Celox™ Gauze has received an outstanding reception worldwide. We are proud that the UK MOD has chosen Celox™ Gauze to help treat some of the worst wounds imaginable. It give me great pleasure to see all the work put into the development of Celox™ now help save the lives of the wounded in Afghanistan.”
