Celox™ Pro

The Celox™ Pro range takes Celox™ technology from the battlefield and into the hospital & clinical settings to help medical professionals with thier bleeding problems. It is indicated for the control of external bleeding from wounds and surgical procedures.

The Celox™Pro range consists of two formats. A versatile 4g pack of granules suitable for both flat and irregular wounds; as well as an easy to use 8x8 folded gauze pad.

When mixed with blood, Celox™ Pro forms a gel like clot in 30 seconds. This clotting action is independent of the body's normal clotting processes. In conjunction with finger tip pressure, Celox™ Pro has been shown to stop bleeding within just 1 minute.

Celox™ Pro's clotting ability has been proven to work in the presence of common anti-coagulants such as warfarin and heparin. Its also work on hypothermic (cold) blood. In wound models, Celox™ Pro has been proven to be effective in rapidly stopping even heparinised arterial bleeding, and in clinical tests by the US marines, Celox™ was the only product to give 100% survival. It gave robust, reliable clotting with no rebleeding and demonstrated a clinically significant reduction in blood loss**.

Celox™ Pro does NOT use non degrading procoagulant minerals or nano particles such as smectitie or kaolin, which can remain in the body indefinately unless completely removed.

Celox™ Pro is made with chitosan, a natural polysaccharide. Chitosan is broken down in the body by lysozyme, a human enzyme, to leave glucosamine, a sugar which is normally found in the body***.
